Speaking our truth can be difficult, but when we allow ourselves to be transparent and honest something happens. It can feel scary and unsure, you may feel you will be rejected or laughed at. But the real joy comes from the release of holding onto the feelings of fear. As children, we are taught (one hopes), that honesty is better than dishonesty. As adults, however, we can go deeper to examine our choices and how the risk of being dishonest brings a return. When we speak the truth, we are affirming what already is. We are supported by the universe and are in the flow, so there is no extra energy needed. But when we are being dishonest the energy requires extra effort, it doesn't flow as easily. There is resistance in our bodies and our souls.
Life is not always black and white and we may find it useful at times to make decisions based on outcomes that we don't see the full picture at the time, so what harm is a little white lie? But what most people don't understand is that one decision can then create a wave and that wave can turn into a tsunami because one story then turns into another and another, and then you are caught in this web of deceit and don't even remember where it started. It can be very overwhelming and eventually, you will start to see small cracks that will weaken the structure of your path over time. This can lead to further energy being spent on keeping things hidden, working to remember the tales we've spun and fearing the consequences of being found out. This puts a huge strain on the mind and body and can be very draining, especially to your spirit. We can free ourselves from the bonds of dishonesty at any time.
Speaking and living our truth may involve risking, the possibility of rejection or losing people close to you. But when we allow ourselves to follow the flow of life, we are supported. We can then use our energy to cultivate physical, emotional and spiritual well-being and create our dreams, rather than leaving ourselves too drained to even maintain our existence. Today you can choose to create a different life for yourself.
